Cat Beckstrand is a visual artist from the San Francisco Bay Area. They photographed a rapidly gentrifying San Francisco & the wider region for more than ten years, observing it critically through a psychogeographic lens with a background informed by urban theory. Their primary focus is on our relationship with plants, chance encounters, moments of transition, and liminality.

They are currently based in Brooklyn, NY.
